What is Grain Train Provisions?
Provisions is a special order program and a new benefit for Grain Train owners offering online access to the entire United Natural Foods (UNFI) catalog of 15,000+ natural and organic products at a discount. Most items are by the case and orders can easily be placed online and picked up in the Petoskey or Boyne City store locations.
Who can order from Provisions?
- Active Grain Train owners and staff (active owners are those who are current on their equity payment)
- If you are not already an owner, join here
What are the benefits of Provisions?
- Discount pricing on case purchases
- Access to a broader product selection
- Greater discounts as the volume of purchases increase
- Additional savings on Co+op Deals and Co-op Basics
- An easy-to-shop platform for special ordering
Do I need to sign up for this owner benefit?
Owners are automatically signed up for Provisions as long as their active/up-to-date email address is on file. Look for an activation email to complete your account setup.
I did not receive an email invitation for Provisions, but I am an owner. What do I do?
- Check your Spam/Junk folder

How do I access the Provisions website?
Access the Provisions website by clicking on the Provisions icon located on the homepage of our website: graintrain.coop. You can also go directly to the Provisions site at graintrain.provisions.coop
How do I place my order?
All orders are made by the customer through the Provisions website:

How do Loyalty Points work with Provisions?
Loyalty Points accrue with every Provisions purchase and owners may use their accrued Loyalty dollars to pay for Provisions purchases.
Will my Patronage include purchases through Provisions?
Owners do accrue patronage with Provisions purchases.
How much will I save?
- Save a minimum of 10% on all purchases, including current Co-op Deals items
- Additional discounts will be granted based on volume:
- 10% off for orders up to $299
- 15% off for orders of $300 - $499
- 20% off for orders of $500 and up
Can I use my 10% owner discount with Provisions purchases?
All purchases through Provisions have an automatic 10% discount applied. The once-a-month 10% owner discount benefit is reserved for in-store and curbside purchases. Therefore, the once-a-month 10% owner discount may not be stacked on top of the Provisions discount.
How do I sign up for Provisions?
- Become a Grain Train owner, provide us with your email address, and we will get you set
- Already an owner and not signed up? Email us: ownership@graintrain.coop
How much do I have to buy?
- There is no minimum order amount
- Most items are only available in case quantities (for example 12 cans of beans or 25 pounds of rice)
- Some items, like wellness products, are available individually
What is the order deadline?
- Orders are placed by Thursdays at 11:59 AM and picked up the following Thursday
- We do not back-order items
- Out-of-stocks will be removed from the pick-up confirmation and the customer is responsible for reordering the item at a later date
How do I know whether or not my order has arrived?
You will receive an email notification from ownership@graintrain.coop when your order is ready for pick up.
Where do I pick up my order?
- All orders are picked up from the Petoskey or Boyne City store location, depending on where you indicated when you placed your order.
- When you arrive in the store, let one of our team members know that you have a Provisions order waiting for pick-up
How do I pay for my order?
Payment is due in-store at the time of pickup. We accept all forms of payment including EBT for items that meet SNAP rules.
Can I return my Provisions special order?
- Once an item leaves the Petoskey store, customers have a 24-hour window to communicate internal damages or concerns to ownership@graintrain.coop. Otherwise, Provisions items are not returnable once they have been picked up.
- We will issue a refund if a customer mistakenly orders an item, provided it is unopened, undamaged, and has not yet left the store.
